About this Event
The Ukrainian businessman and writer Sergiy Radchenko talks to Spencer Leigh about living in the Ukraine, his love for the Beatles, the impact of the Beatles in Ukraine, and the terrible toll that the war has had upon his country and its citizens.
In 2016 in the town of Izium, Kharkiv region, the Lenin Square in the centre was renamed to Lennon Square and the mural with John's portrait was made on one building. In spring of 2022 the town was under Russian occupation, but survived it, though - as you can see on the 1st image (John Lennon mural) - was damaged. Once the town was liberated, the photo of the mural was frequently shown in Ukrainian news and social media.
