About this Event
Experience a night of inspired jazz and expressive storytelling through sound as two of Southern California’s most exciting saxophonists — Branden Brown and Spencer Bowie — take the stage together at The Sanctuary Studio.
Spencer Bowie, an Orange County–based alto saxophonist and composer, brings a soulful and vibrant voice shaped by the influences of Cannonball Adderley, Cedar Walton, Stevie Wonder, and Charles Mingus. With his quintet, Spencer reimagines the music that has defined his artistic path, weaving tradition with personal interpretation to create a sound both timeless and deeply human.
Branden Brown, a Dallas-born, Los Angeles-based saxophonist and composer, bridges jazz, classical, and avant-garde traditions with masterful fluidity. A graduate of USC and the University of North Texas, Branden’s music draws from Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and the World Saxophone Quartet—exploring the boundaries of improvisation and the emotional depth of modern jazz.
Together, these two stellar artists create an evening of spontaneous interplay, bold ideas, and lyrical expression. Join us for an unforgettable night of jazz at The Sanctuary Studio.
