Special Screening of the Award-Winning Documentary LUCHA: A Wrestling Tale
Join us for an inspiring in-person screening of LUCHA: A Wrestling Tale, the powerful true story of a group of girls from the Bronx who fell in love with wrestling and built something bigger than themselves. What began as a high school team with limited resources grew into LUCHA Wrestling Club — New York City’s only all-girls wrestling program — and a movement creating real opportunities for girls through sport, mentorship, and education.
At its core, LUCHA: A Wrestling Tale is about resilience, community, and the power of showing up. The film captures the determination of young women who turned struggle into strength, supported by coaches and families who believed in their potential on and off the mat.
The documentary premiered at DOC NYC, where it won the Grand Jury Metropolis Award and earned national recognition from The New York Times, TODAY Show, CBS, and The Hollywood Reporter.
This event is open to the community and all are welcome.
Donation-Based Tickets
Tickets are donation-based. We suggest a $7 contribution, but you are welcome to give more if you would like to support LUCHA’s mission further, or less if that works better for you. All proceeds go directly to LUCHA Wrestling Club to fund gear, travel, and educational opportunities for the girls who make up the team.
Every ticket helps sustain a space where girls can grow, compete, and believe in their futures.
