About Miriam:
"Miriam moved to New Orleans for the first time in 1996 from Caracas, Venezuela when she was awarded the Koch Fellowship and the Fundayacucho - Fulbright Scholarship to attend Tulane University. After obtaining her Masters degree, she returned home to establish her own design-build firm. During this time, she discovered her passion for hospitality design through her work on the JW Marriott Caracas. She returned to New Orleans and joined the Campo team in 2003, became the Studio Director in 2008, and a Partner in 2022.
During her 30-year career in Architecture, Miriam has gained a wealth of expertise in design, project management, and now Real Estate Development. She also holds a Certificate from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management, which provides her with a deeper understanding of the new services offered by the firm. She is a result-driven leader who diligently manages Campo's high-performing organization for all projects.
As one of the founders of Women In Architecture, AIA New Orleans chapter, and the Young Architects Forum, Miriam has been instrumental in encouraging and mentoring many young professionals. She is deeply involved with the design community, women's mentorship, and historic preservation. Miriam is passionate about the integration of adaptive reuse, sustainability, and hospitality design. Currently, she is serving her community by being a member of the CBD Architectural Review Committee of the Historic District Landmarks Commission."
