Well Read Sistas is bringing our Sistahood to Gladys Books & Wine — a beautiful Black woman–owned bookstore in Brooklyn that embodies everything we stand for: community, creativity, and connection.

Across the country, independent Black bookstores are fighting to keep their doors open. These spaces aren’t just shops—they’re sanctuaries for our stories and safe havens for our voices. Through our new Well Read Sistas Bookstore Initiative, we’re partnering with bookstores like Gladys to host monthly book club chats that drive visibility, community, and sales—while keeping the pages of Black women’s literature turning.
