Named after an ancient Celtic harvest festival honoring the Irish god Lugh, patron of the arts, the band unites some of Ireland’s most celebrated instrumentalists in a dazzling display of virtuosity and ensemble precision.Featuring bassist Trevor Hutchinson (The Waterboys), guitarist Ed Boyd (Flook, Michael McGoldrick Band), fiddler Sean Smyth, flutist Kevin Crawford, and piper Cillian Vallely (Riverdance, Bruce Springsteen collaborator), Lúnasa has been hailed as an “Irish music dream team.” Their intricate arrangements, pulsing rhythms, and soulful melodies create a sound that’s both timeless and forward-looking—a living, breathing celebration of Irish tradition at its most electrifying.
