Join BAERS for a workshop in the odd and unexpected in dances of the 1790-1830 extended Regency period! Though rarely done today, the social dances of the early 19th century included oddities such as a polonaise-mescolanze, a group allemande, and a nine-person reel, aswell as game-like elements such as cutting in, lifting one's partner,and dancing around pleasingly-posed couples. With internationally noted social dance historian and Regency-era specialist Susan de Guardiola we'll spend a lively evening exploring as many of the more
