You know how to breathe. But are you breathing in a way that sets your body and mind up for success while under pressure?
No matter how nervous you feel, it is possible to maintain a sense of groundedness, think quickly on the spot, and deliver a message with a strong sound of voice.
In this workshop, we'll cover breathwork from two angles:
1. It's effect on our nervous system
2. It's effect on our speaking voice
Students will learn techniques to breathe in a way that:
- fosters comfort inspite of nerves
- produces a stronger speaking voice
-relaxes the mind while under pressure
- creates a sense of ease for both speaker and listener
By the way - we should never lose our voice or go hoarse from speaking alone. That really should only happen when we have true laryngitis. So if you lose your voice after a long day of speaking, this workshop could change everything for you!

About the instructor:
Tricia Veldman, MS CCC-SLP is a local spoken word poet and professional speech coach with over 9 years of experience helping individuals overcome their deepest fear: public speaking. Having considered herself frustratingly timid for most of her life, Tricia battled her own speaking anxiety and now has the privilege of guiding others to do the same. She gave a TEDx Talk in 2023, shares weekly guidance on her YouTube channel, and recently published her first poetry book.
