Making Calgary a Place Friendly for Birds
Join Bird Friendly Calgary to learn about some of Calgary's bird species (including those that live around Fish Creek Park) and the threats they face in the urban environment. You'll discover solutions to these threats and actions you can take to support our Avian friends.
About the Presenter
Sara Jordan-McLachlan, Founding Member of Bird Friendly Calgary
Sara has a diverse background from biological field work to wildlife rehabilitation, animal welfare and environmental education. Sara earned a B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Calgary and an M.Sc. in Environmental Practice from Royal Roads University. In addition to Bird Friendly Calgary, Sara is a former member of the Biodiversity Advisory Committee and current member of the Climate Advisory Committee with the City of Calgary and Program Manager for the Calgary Urban Species Response Team. She is also a biodiversity researcher with the Miistakis Institute and Naturalist with Weaselhead/Glenmore Park Preservation Society.
