ABOUT Peter SlaterPeter is a semi-retired BBC Sports Reporter.
In more than 40 years as a sports reporter, working in both Commercial Radio and then for the BBC National Sports Unit, he met, interviewed, and been forgotten by many of sports most famous people. He's been assaulted by a world motor racing champion, been confronted by a drunken Brian Clough and been granted an audience with the most famous man in the world. Although football is his first love ( he still reports regularly for Radio 5Live and BBC Final Score) he spent 8 years covering Formula One, worked on the Tour De France 5 times and worked at the Olympic Games in Rio.
