About this Event
Join us for an interactive workshop based on the findings and recommendations of Speak Out on gender-based violence (GBV), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). Learn practical skills on collaborating and advocating for meaningful change!
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn about the role of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in the context of gender-based violence. Hear the key findings from our research project into GBV within BC workplaces, and our consultations on NDAs. Hear firsthand from people who've fought harmful NDAs.
- Learn about the basics of advocacy, including influencing decision-makers and shaping policy. Our advocacy 101 segment will be valuable for anyone looking to get involved in advocacy at their work, in their organizations, or to government.
This workshop is a mix of presentation, discussions, and hands-on exercises. We will explore how to advance change around non-disclosure agreements and learn skills you can apply to the issues that matter most to you!
You’ll gain:
- Deeper knowledge of gender-based violence issues in BC
- Deeper understanding of NDAs and their (mis)use and how to respond to pressure to sign one
- Practical advocacy skills
- Tools and resources to support your work
- Connection with others committed to advancing change
This workshop is open to anyone – including workers, unions, service providers, anti-violence workers, legal professionals, and anyone interested in learning more.
