About this Event
The SPECTRA (Spasticity Education and Clinical Translation) International Summer School is a two-day international academic program hosted by the UBC Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and endorsed by ISPRM and SUNAAS.
Designed primarily for early-career clinicians and trainees, the SPECTRA Summer School also welcomes established physicians and researchers committed to mentorship and collaboration.
Space is limited, and registration will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
SPECTRA offers an integrated educational framework combining:
• Clinical innovation
• Research development
• Academic skill-building
• Structured international dialogue
Participants will engage in high-level discussions on:
– Spasticity pathophysiology
– Evolving outcome measurement paradigms
– Clinical goal-setting challenges
– Multimodal management strategies
– Emerging innovations including AI, ultrasound, EMG, and biomarker development
Through point–counterpoint debates, moderated discussion, and rotating small-group workshops, the program fosters meaningful global exchange aimed at advancing spasticity care collaboratively.
