As part of Canadian Children’s Book Week, the library is pleased to welcome award-winning Canadian author Lydia Lukidis for an engaging STEM-themed presentation for elementary students.Canadian Children’s Book Week connects authors, illustrators, and storytellers with young readers across the country. These visits give children the chance to meet creators, discover Canadian books, and get an inside look at how stories are made—experiences that often spark a lifelong love of reading.
In her high-energy workshop “Sparking Curiosity with STEM,” Lydia Lukidis brings her award-winning nonfiction picture books to life while showing students that science is full of wonder and surprises. Through engaging visuals, fascinating real-world facts, and interactive activities, students will explore bizarre deep-sea creatures, mysterious light phenomena in Earth’s atmosphere, and the exciting connections between storytelling and scientific discovery.
