About this Event
Kimberly Hamilton will guide us through gentle movements as we learn about ancient teachings such as Yoga Sutras and the Eight Limbs of Yoga. We'll focus on the Yamas and Niyamas—the ethical and personal practices that examine how we relate to the world, ourselves, and our everyday choices.
This workshop is an invitation to explore how these ancient frameworks may support physical health, mental clarity, emotional balance, and mindful living in a modern context. Short discussions and quotes from the Yoga Sutras are paired with accessible, mixed-level movement, breathwork, mantra, and reflection, allowing participants to experience the philosophy in an embodied and approachable way.
This workshop is designed for:
- Students curious about the philosophy behind yoga
- Practitioners interested in applying yoga beyond physical postures
- Anyone seeking practical tools to support well-being and self-awareness
This event is for everyone, all ages, all skill levels. Even if you've never done yoga a day in your life, this workshop is the best place to start. If you have a yoga mat, feel free to bring it. If you'd prefer to do some gentle movements while standing or sitting in a chair, that's also perfectly fine. Either way, wear comfortable clothes.
HOW TO FIND US: We're going to meet in the Billiards Room at Meridian Buckhead. Guests have to be admitted at the door by the concierge. So I'll hang out at the entrance to greet folks right up until showtime. If you arrive late or have any trouble getting in, just call me at (678) 464-9991. There's plenty of parking in the Buckhead Station lot. There's also lower level parking.
Kimberly Hamilton is a yoga, tai chi, qi gong instructor and holistic health coach. Growing up as a severe asthmatic and being frequently hospitalized throughout childhood gave her a deep appreciation for pranayama and how yoga is centered around the breath.
Kimberly is dedicated to teaching people the importance of cultivating a mind/body connection and remaining physically fit through exercise and proper nutrition. One central aspect of yoga and meditation that Kimberly emphasizes is how the mind and body come together to create mindful action on and off the mat in daily life.
(For anyone who may be interested in hanging out after the event, we'll head to a nearby restaurant for drinks, food and more conversation!)
