Połączone z Krakowem w 1915, zachowało swoją odrębność, przynajmniej w świadomości wielu mieszkańców – również żydowskich. Choć z punktu widzenia historii tych ostatnich obszar Podgórza kojarzony jest głównie z latami drugiej wojny światowej, to nie oznacza, że przed nią, a także po niej nie toczyło się tam życie żydowskie w różnych jego odmianach. Zapraszamy Państwa na spacer po Podgórzu i po historii jego żydowskich obywateli i obywatelek.

On the other side of Vistula River, when looking from Kazimierz district, is where the area of Podgórze begins. Today it is a district of Krakow, once it was a separate town. Podgórze was incorporated into the city in 1915, however, it preserved its uniqueness, at least in the collective imagination of many citizens of Krakow – among them also the Jewish ones. Although, in Jewish history the area of Podgórze is mainly associated with the wartime period, this does not mean that Jewish life has not been present in the district before the Second World War as well as after. We would like to invite you to a walk through the district of Kazimierz and in the footsteps of its Jewish inhabitants.
