About this Event

Join Space Scotland's Environmental Task Force (ETF) at Space-Comm for their two-hour Sustainability Symposium on sustainable practices in the space industry. This two-hour session, open to participants from both space and non-space sectors, will feature engaging discussions with experts from organisations such as the European Space Agency and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, as well as expertise from outside the traditional space community. The session aims to exchange ideas from other industries and explore how these can be applied to the space sector. Participants will also take part in an interactive activity designed to encourage collaboration and solutions for future space sustainability challenges.

Space Sustainability: A Roadmap for Scotland

As a part of their involvement at Space-Comm, the ETF will also provide an update on “Space Sustainability: A Roadmap for Scotland", describe the progress made to date and will look ahead to medium- to long-term goals. Discussions during the Space Symposium will be used to inform future work packages and the approach to achieving the future objectives.

Panel Session - Space for Business: A focus on non-space sector engagement

Info: An interactive panel session focused on how non-space organisations are using space-enabled technologies and infrastructure, and/ or the challenges they face where the space industry could support. Representatives from the space sector will also contribute, discussing how they engage and collaborate with non-space sectors, creating a two-way conversation and sharing practical insights.

Space Sector Problem Statements Activity

Info: An interactive session where the ETF propose real ‘space enables or related’ challenges. Participants will work in groups to identify opportunities, suggest solutions, and propose actionable changes. The data collected from this session will be used to inform tangible follow-up activities addressing these challenges.
