The primary goal is to teach owners how to perform routine cleaning and lubrication on their Featherweight machine.
Bring your own:
Singer Featherweight 221 or 222 sewing machine to work on.
any screwdrivers you have, if you still have original tools that came with your machine or a flathead and phillips screwdriver will work.
an old towel for your work area.
fresh needles, we recommend Schmetz brand, either a size 12 or 14
two different colors of cotton thread
a small flashlight if you have one.
Spa Day Kit
Students will get a "Spa Day Kit" which includes cleaning supplies like brushes and oil.
What you will learn:
How to disassemble key parts of the machine for cleaning
Proper cleaning techniques using appropriate solvents
Where and how to apply oil and grease.
