The Soweto Gospel Choir was formed in Soweto, South Africa. The more than 30-member ensemble blends elements of African gospel, reggae and popular music. They have collaborated with Peter Gabriel, U2, John Legend, Robert Plant, Chance the Rapper and Ben Harper, to name a few. The Choir has performed in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, and Nelson Mandela Theatre.Soweto Gospel Choir has been nominated for five Grammys, an Oscar (with Peter Gabriel), six South African Music Awards (SAMAs), as well as an International Reggae and World Music Award. The Choir has been awarded three Grammys in their own right.

La Soweto Gospel Choir a récolté cinq nominations aux prix Grammy, une nomination aux Oscar (aux côtés de Peter Gabriel), une nomination aux Prix internationaux du reggae et de la musique du monde et six nominations aux Prix de la musique sud-africaine (SAMA). Elle a remporté trois prix Grammy.
