About the Scouts of the World Award

Scouts of the World Award (SOWA) is a Scout Network only award that gives Scout Network members the chance to undertake a project of their choice within the themes of Peace, Environment and Sustainability and take action on their chosen issue. SOWA is the only award for young people provided by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement and can be achieved by Scouts from over 50 countries worldwide but the project can be undertaken anywhere in the world.

UK Virtual Discovery

Over six evenings in February and March, we'll be hosting a Virtual SOWA Discovery for up to 15 Scout Network members. Sessions will be run by trainers from all over the UK, who will put you on track to achieve your Scouts of the World Award.

All sessions will be run through Zoom, so you will need access to the internet. You will also need to be available at the following times:

Monday 3 February 2025 7pm - 9pm
Monday 10 February 2025 7pm - 9pm
Monday 17 February 2025 7pm - 9pm
Monday 24 February 2025 7pm - 9pm
Monday 3 March 2025 7pm - 9pm
Monday 10 March 2025 7pm - 9pm

Throughout the evenings, you will learn about the Sustainable Development Goals and how you can complete your own 80 hour project which will earn you one of the four Scout Top Awards!

Places are limited, so please only sign up if you are sure you able to attend. In the event that you cannot attend after signing up, please cancel your ticket and we will offer your place to somebody else.
