About this Event

This is the sowing stage of our project which involves gardening activities such as turning over the soil, weeding, raking, planting of the seeds and watering.

This activity is suitable for all abilities. We welcome anyone that would like to learn about the traditional methods of flax processing.

An introductory demonstration about how to grow flax and turn it into linen will be given and participants will have the opportunity to extract the seeds for sowing from plants harvested last year.

Further free workshops relating to flax processing, the harvest and linen yarn application in textiles will take place during the summer, in the autumn and the winter season. Details will be posted on our website www.ariadnesthreadgroup.org
