South Sound Opening Day 2026!
It's time to shake off the winter blues, scrub away the green slime, and blow the cobwebs out of your engine and hoist those soggy sails into the spring sunshine! The Olympia Yacht Club proudly presents South Sound Opening Day of Boating Season, a Celebration of Olympia’s historic waterfront.
This year’s theme? "Olympia, Portal to the World” links our historic seaport with Seattle and Tacoma’s opening day themes as the Puget Sound region prepares to host the World Cup.
Join the Parade!
Decorate your boat, show off your creativity, and cruise with fellow boaters in a festive parade! We’ll launch from Percival Landing, make our way to the Country Club, and loop back in style.

The Fun Doesn’t Stop on the Water!
Once your boat is safely docked, join us for a BBQ & Deck Party with Live Music! It’s the perfect way to kick off the season with great food, friends, and fantastic tunes.
Weekend Schedule
Friday Night TGIF (5:30 PM)
Pizza, salad bar, and ice cream—just $10 per person!
Pick up your parade packet and register if you haven’t already!
Non-OYC members who register for the parade are invited as guests for the weekend!
Saturday Morning Festivities
Breakfast at 8:30 AM ($6 per person)
American Legion Band Concert at 9:30 AM
Opening Day Ceremony at 10:30 AM
Captain’s Meeting & Final Parade Packet Pickup at 11:30 AM
The Parade Kicks Off at 12:30 PM!
Deck Party at 5:30 PM ($15 per person) – The best way to cap off a fantastic day!
