The South Peace Hospice Palliative Care Society hosts their 4th Annual Fundraising Gala - LIGHTS, CAMERA, AUCTION in Co-op Mercer Hall. An opportunity to get dressed up and raise funds to support this important society in our community.
Each ticket includes a silent auction, dinner, and live auction. A safe ride home will be available at 10 pm with transport in Dawson Creek and the Village of Pouce Coupe.
About the SPHPCS:
The South Peace Hospice Palliative Care Society Provides:
- Companioning Volunteer training to Canadian Hospice Society Standards.
- Companioning volunteers to support clients and families experiencing life-limiting and/or terminal illness, in hospitals, care facilities or homes.
- Grief support in person or by phone.
-Hospital beds and other equipment loaned in homes as needed.
- Comfort Care bags to keep.
-Sheepskin fleeces loaned for prevention of pressure sores.
- Community education and awareness regarding chronic illness, self-care, end-of-life care, palliative care, and Advance Care Planning (ACP).
- Access to borrow resource materials from our library.
- Advocacy and assistance to find and use other resources.
- Support for School District 59 Counselling Grief Boxes for children.
FUNDED BY:
Fundraising, membership dues, community donations, grants by Northern Health Home and Community Care, and BC Gaming.
REFERRALS BY:
Clients, families, friends, physicians, social workers, or home care nurses.
