About this Event

Live music at The Park! Enosburg Falls–based jazz trio @astralundergroundvt, self-described as “celestial jazz from the dark side of the Enosphere”, will perform "Soundscapes and Landscapes" by the backdrop of David's sculpture Moments in Play.


There will be burrito bowls (meat and vegetarian options), chips, dips and drinks available for purchase from Sessions Food Truck. You're also welcome to pack a picnic.


Come enjoy an unforgettable evening of music among the sculptures.

Tickets to this event are by-donation.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the event begins to allow time for check-in. Concerts run with sun or light precipitation. Registered participants will receive an email if the concert is postponed due to inclement weather.

About Astral Underground

Astral Underground was started in 2022, as a celestial Jazz trio in Enosburg Falls, Vermont. The trio is Ben Maddox on Keys and guitar; John Notaro, drums and percussion; and Margaux Simmons, C flute, alto flute, Native flutes, and vocals. The trio has produced two albums: Astral Underground, and Sunsets are Sacred, which are available on Bandcamp, Spotify and YouTube.

Ben Maddox is a multi instrumentalist producer who has been a part of many projects including: farm, The Mountain Says No, The Cush, Cookout, Afroman and many more. He records, mixes and masters in his basement studio in Northern Vermont. He is also a soundtrack maker and video creator.

John Notaro is a multi-instrumentalist/composer from northern Vermont. He is focused on psychedelic music, heavy metal, avant-garde, and film score among many other genres. With the goal of “Building playgrounds for other musicians to play on,” John is frequently collaborating with other local artists.

Margaux Simmons is a flutist, composer, music educator and is Co-director of Music City, a department of the University of Orange (UofO), a free people’s university in Orange, New Jersey. She is also a retired Professor of Music from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. and is a co-founder of the ensemble, Idris Ackamoor and The Pyramids, the internationally touring ensemble that has been in existence for 52 years.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Cold Hollow Sculpture Park address is 4280 Boston Post Road, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450. CHSP is not far from Burlington and Montreal. Please go to Google Maps for specific directions. Approaching on the Boston Post Road, from north or south, the CHSP concrete sculpture on the west side of the road indicates our driveway.

There is free parking. Space limited - we encourge carpooling!

Will the event take place rain or shine?

Yes! The event is outdoors and will take place in all weather except severe thunder storms. If there are any changes to the date, we will email all who have RSVP'd here and post updates on our website and social media.

Are there restrooms onsite?

A singe-stall ADA port-o-let is located at the entrance of the Park, situated just behind the Welcome Barn.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

We provide:

  • Maps and information
  • A small number of umbrellas for walking around the park in sun and drizzle
  • Parking onsite

We suggest you bring the following if you plan to tour the park before or after the event:

  • Sturdy walking shoes
  • Sunhat and/or umbrella
  • Extra layer
  • Camera and/or journal
  • Bug repellent
  • There will be pizza available for purchase. You are also welcome to bring your own food.
  • Please pack out all trash.

Please do not bring:

  • Pets of any kind (on or off leash). Service Animals as defined under ADA Title II and III are permitted.
  • Unsupervised children
  • Cigarettes
