Led by Joliet native Brent James, the Righteous Hillbillies have spent years building a reputation as one of the Midwest’s premier Southern Rock and Americana acts — blending blues boogie, soul, country grit, and high-energy rock ‘n’ roll into a sound that feels both classic and dangerously alive. Their music has earned praise from critics, national publications, and fans across the country, with Relix Magazine recognizing the band for their song “Bound to Change.”
Born right here in Joliet, the band has shared stages across the region while carrying the spirit of the South through roaring guitars, whiskey-soaked vocals, and songs that sound made for highways, summer nights, and loud crowds. Influences range from the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd to the Stones, Steve Earle, and Stax soul.
