In connection with the Sounds of Silk exhibit, Abhishek Mukherjee and Debanjan Bhattacharjee will perform classical Indian music influenced by the cultures living along the ancient Silk Road.
Experience an afternoon of authentic Hindustani music by Utah’s own virtuosos Abhishek Mukherjee on the Sitar and Debanjan Bhattacharjee on the Tabla. They bring their unique perspective as practitioners of a genre of music that has been significantly influenced by movements of peoples along the Silk Road in an interactive concert that pleases the senses and intrigues the mind. This concert is presented by Nitya Nritya Foundation in the backdrop of the fascinating month long exhibit of exquisite musical instruments and textiles from the collections of Eastern Arts displayed on Levels 3 & 4.
