This quintet is dedicated to the music of New Orleans jazz composers who shaped the unique "New Orleans Sound." Jazz fans and musicians are familiar with the great Louis Armstrong and perhaps the pioneering jazz pianist Jelly Roll Morton. Less well known are the composers of New Orleans jazz such as: Ellis Marsalis Alvin Batiste James Black Nicholas Payton Galactic Funky Meters among others.
