SOUNDBITES – Monthly Poetry Open Mic Live in the Assembly Bar + Kitchen!
Readings by a different local published poet each month and this month we’re delighted to welcome Amanda Crundall
Amanda is a published author, poet, spoken word performer and radio presenter. Her debut collection “Heart on her Sleeve” with Enigma Press Partnership Publishing was published in 2024. She is based in East Yorkshire, UK.
Her writings are often deep rooted with raw emotion and energy.
Amanda’s candid and brutally honest approach to writing about life has been described as heart felt, energetic, brave and bringing what other’s may be feeling alive and acknowledged.
She was delighted to have her poetry accepted for performance at the 2023 Festival of Love event at D31 Gallery, Doncaster and Scunthorpe Pride (2023) in addition to having a selection of her poems published in The Script Magazine (2022).
During 2024 her poetry has been accepted and published within the following collection: Sisterhood Anthology, Ripon Poetry Festival, “Down our Street” and the High Wolds Poetry
Anthologies.
During Autumn 2024 she had a poem ‘highly commended’ as part of the Dark Poet’s Society competition; her poetry has featured on LiveWire Poetry, Online Anthologies and she has been broadcast live on North Manchester FM and Phoenix Community Radio,
Goole. More recently, her poetry has been successful in The Written Woman Anthology (2025) Collection and Write To Be Heard publication (2025).
The Emboldened Heart is her second publication. Her third publication is in progress.
