Sound of Hope: 8-Week Youth Worship Music Program is designed to help young people ages 8–15 discover their gift, build confidence, and grow through music, mentorship, and purpose.
This program is presented by Detroit Hope Center in partnership with Uplift 313. Together, we are creating a positive, faith-filled environment where students can learn music, grow in confidence, and be encouraged by mentors who care about their future.
Students will choose one area of focus for the program:
Piano
Drums
Bass
Vocals
Over the course of the 8 weeks, each student will receive hands-on instruction in their selected area. By the end of the program, the goal is for students to be able to participate with the team and play or sing worship song stogether.
Orientation:
Saturday, June 6 at 12:00 PM
Parents/guardians and students should attend orientation to learn more about the program, meet the team, review expectations, choose an area of focus, and complete next steps.
Program Schedule:
June 15 – August 3
Every Monday at 5:30 PM
Each class is 90 minutes.
Final Recital:
Sunday, August 9
Students will celebrate their progress and share what they have learned.
Registration Fee:
$25 per student
Important Details:
Students should have access to an instrument at home so they can practice during the week. For vocal students, regular practice at home will also be expected.
Each child will choose own or have access to an instrument or be able to focus on for the full program.
A parent or guardian must remain on the property while their child is receiving lessons.
