Sound Magic - Tiny SoireeAs part of our Tiny Soiree series, we invite you to an evening of pushing boundaries and sensory perception beyond the norm. All we ask is for you to arrive with an open mind, and immerse yourself in new experiences and emotions.
This time we will have a laid-back workshop with fun exercises to explore our perception of sound, followed by immersive concert/sound journey.
Our host, Kat Bumbul of Sound Mysterium will present and play the instruments that are considered to have magical properties.
Her collection counts about 150 vintage and antique singing bowls, many of which are a few hundred years old, and of very rich character and presence. Kat will bring a couple of dozens of them, plus a few other instruments known for their ritual use, trance inducing properties, and widely employed today for sound relaxation and healing.
We will start with tea and light interaction, sitting in a relaxed candlelit setting on couches, carpets and cushions.
After a brief introduction to the instruments - informal and interactive sound magic workshop to explore sound as a medium for creativity and connection to intuition, subconsciousness and body. It might be useful to have something to take notes with or to draw on.
At the end we will just relax and unwind to Kat's sound performance. You can stay seated and watch her playing or you can choose to keep your eyes closed for an 'inner journey' experience. For a lie-down option bring something like a soft mat and blankets.
