In the early evening on Sunday, May 26th there will be a group Sound Bath held at Horizons Therapy in Waynesboro, VA led by Greg Burns of Metta Vibrations.
A Sound Bath is a name given to a musical type of experience where is one is immersed deeply into the Healing Art of Sound. For these events attendees come to lie down and absorb the sounds and vibrations created by Himalayan Singing Bowls, large Symphonic Gongs, chimes, and more. These sessions have been known to elicit deep relaxation including meditative states, relieve stress, promote emotional balance, unlock creativity, and more. It's a unique experience that allows us to listen inside in a deep way.

Greg will begin by discussing Sound and how it interacts with us and why it can be a powerful tool for our wellness. After inviting participants to get comfortable and offering some guided relaxation, Greg will begin filling the atmosphere with the harmonic tones of the various instruments. The sounds will last over an hour before being guided back to waking consciousness. Time to ground, reflect and ask questions about the experience will be offered before concluding the session.
No prior experience is needed. These sessions are geared to aid those not experienced with meditation, as well as offer an opportunity of deep meditation for experienced practitioners.
Attendees are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing and limit caffeine intake prior. One unique quality ablut the event at Horizons is its ability to offer massage tables to lay on for the session if desired. Some mats, bolsters, and blankets will be available to use, though you may also consider bringing your own mat, or any pillow, blanket or crystal you desire to have with you for the session. The general idea is to create a nice, comfortable resting spot for yourself.

Greg Burns is a Practitioner in the Healing Art of Sound hailing from the mountains of Virginia. He offers private Sound sessions at Horizons Therapy and has been offering a wide range of services and sound experiences for a number of years now throughoutthe mid-Atlantic region. Greg utilizes a range of instruments as part of his practice including Tibetan Singing Bowls, Gong, Drums, Chimes, Rattles, and more. He has shared his Sound experiences all over Virginia and the East Coast, including at the well-known Kripalu Yoga Center in MA. He also regularly leads community drum circles and ws percussionist for the groups Chakra Khan and Spiritheart Collective. Having also worked for 15 years in a therapy hospital allows Greg to offer a unique and expansive understanding of the individual healing process.
