Please join us for SoulFood Poetry Night at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at SoulFood CoffeeHouse at 15748 Redmond Way in Redmond, Washington. Tonight’s poets are the inimitable T. CLEAR and DONNA JAMES. Please bring your own poems for our open mic. Admission is FREE.T. CLEAR founded Floating Bridge Press and is an EasySpeak Seattle facilitator. She has been writing and publishing since the late 1970s, and her work has appeared in Poetry Northwest, Terrain.org, The Moth, Common Ground Review, Verse Daily, Take a Stand: Art Against Hate, and elsewhere. Her books are A House, Undone, the 2021 winner of the Sally Albiso Award, and Egg Money, both from MoonPath Press. She is an associate editor at Bracken magazine.
DONNA JAMES is a 40+ year psychotherapist in private practice in Seattle and a poet of 11 years’ practice. Two hands-full of her poems are published in journals and books. She finally feels like she has enough work to pull together a book of her poems. Gathering, evaluating, and making a cohesive whole is proving to be a challenge and a revelation. She hates a blank page but loves revision, which is the soul of writing and psychotherapy.
