Tulips FTW announces Soul’d Out Mondays, a curated jam session, presented by LockJohnson’s Playground beginning August 16 with Geno Young.Tulips FTW is excited to announce that Gino “LockJohnson” Iglehart will be bringing his popular curated jam sessions to Fort Worth for a Monday night residency, Soul’d Out Mondays. Iglehart hosts “LockJohnson’s Playground” in Deep Ellum in Dallas as a way to feature musical artists from DFW and beyond playing a variety of genres that include jazz, blues and folk.
Iglehart will bring the same energy to Fort Worth for the first time and says “ I’m excited to expand the LockJohnson’s Playground brand to Fort Worth where so many notable artists have been born, bred and excelled. The Fort Worth arts community deserves another look at concepts that can help enhance its already influential mark on music and culture and Soul’d Out Monday’s will help reach that goal while shining more light on its already immense talent pool.”
Iglehart is a music industry veteran best known for his work with Erykah Badu as well as being an accomplished musician in his own right. He uses these sessions that he refers to as a “musical sandbox” to curate his favorite acts and champion emerging artists.
Conceptually, the format for Soul’d Out Mondays at Tulips will feature one guest artist each week, the house band and an open Soul jam. The first of these sessions happens on Monday August 16, 2021, with soul artist Geno Young.
