🎺 Ibrahim Maalouf brings his singular, genre-defying voice to The Den for an intimate evening of jazz, classical, and global music traditions.A French-Lebanese trumpeter, composer, and arranger, Ibrahim Maalouf is internationally celebrated for his expressive playing and innovative use of the quarter-tone trumpet, an instrument developed by his father that allows the trumpet to perform the microtonal scales of Arabic maqams. Rooted in classical training at the Conservatoire de Paris, Maalouf’s music seamlessly weaves together jazz improvisation, Middle Eastern modes, and contemporary composition.
In 2022, Maalouf became the first Lebanese instrumentalist nominated for a Grammy Award for Queen of Sheba, his collaboration with Angélique Kidjo. His career spans film scoring, symphonic works, and collaborations with artists including Sting, Quincy Jones, Salif Keita, Amadou & Mariam, Gregory Porter, and many more. His performances are known for their emotional depth, technical brilliance, and ability to transcend musical borders.
This special concert offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the world’s most distinctive trumpet voices in a setting designed for nuance, clarity, and connection.
