About this Event
"Sori-Chum" – The Resonance of Gayageum and Korean Traditional Dance.
Sori means “sound” in Korean, and Chum means “dance.” Together, Sori-Chum evokes the deep harmony of movement and vibration that lies at the heart of Korean traditional arts.
Since 2024, Sorichum has been led by gayageum artist Hyunjeong Park and Korean traditional dance expert Melissa Minseong Seo. Based in Berlin, the project merges Korean traditional music and dance, aiming to share the depth, nuance, and emotional resonance of Korean culture with audiences across Europe.
Both artists have long dedicated themselves to cultural exchange through education, performance, and creative collaboration. With Sori-Chum, they highlight the delicate interplay between resonance, rhythm, and gesture—offering audiences a contemporary encounter with traditional Korean aesthetics.
Experience the living resonance of Korean melodies and motions. Step into the world of Sori-Chum, where sound moves and movement sings.
