Sonic Wave presents an evening of nu-folk, electronica and global beats. A special double-bill with ALEX ETCHART & VIENTOS with their soulful dancescapes blending LatinX and British folk traditions with euphoric electronica, and Irish singer-songwriter EMMA O’REILLY with her enchanting melodies and sounds fusing folk and alternative pop.
Plus global beats and rare groove with DJs SHERPA BEATS and SON OF JIM from 7pm (concert starts at 7:30pm).

ALEX ETCHART & VIENTOS
Alex Etchart & Vientos bring their soulful dancescapes to The Fisher Theatre, blending LatinX and British folk traditions with euphoric electronica. Glorious synth pads, tropical percussion and lush harmonies come together to craft modern ballads of joy, justice and queer love. The group is led by Alex Etchart, the Anglo-Uruguayan multi-instrumentalist and activist who also leads folk star Sam Lee's Fire Choir; Lee praised him as "cross-pollinating communities and spaces, keeping the folk flame alive in ways only Alex can".

EMMA O'REILLY
Irish singer-songwriter Emma O’Reilly is a unique artist with a voice as powerful as her lyrics, and is “nothing short of genius" according to Pure M magazine. Fusing contemporary, classical and alternative pop-rock with elements of Irish folk, her multi-instrumentalist stance on songwriting pulls together an array of imaginative sounds and striking lyrics, at times vulnerable, at others ferocious! Her potent stage presence is definitely that of a talent on the rise.
