We are celebrating TWO years of serving up Latin culture, cuisine and music with our community. The creativity that is simmered and space it is cultivated in would not be possible without YOU!
So, we’re bringing an incredible lineup and our pot of signature Sancocho to BSMT 254 on Friday, January 16, 2026, ringing in the New Year with familiar faces, family, friends and big surprises!
Returning for his second time with us, we’ll have - straight from Bogotá. This Colombian sound system - led by Pedro Ojeda, drummer of Frente Cumbiero - delivers modern and psychedelic interpretations of traditional Colombian tropical music, cumbia, and expansive, Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
Local cumbia champions, , will ignite the dancefloor with their blend of cumbia, electronica, jazz, and afrobeat. Paying homage to the influence of cumbia across Latin America and the world, this Toronto-based dance band delivers a fresh, evolving musical experience that captivates both seasoned and new audiences.
Sonic Sancocho’s own co-founder, , will heat up the dancefloor in her unparalleled style - full of homegrown Cali classics, contemporary, left-field fire and top-shelf selections to fill the room and fuel non-stop movement.
Sonic Sancocho co-founder is of course, there in spirit, and will be dancing, silently, from another realm. She hopes you can rock the party like she would!

Sancocho is where all of the ingredients come together and are shared amongst one another - from the starches to the spices and everything in between.
