Originally from Bridgetown, WA, Emily Barker has just returned to homeshores after living in the UK for the past 21 years working professionally in the music industry. Her second collection of poetry is about to published by Broken Sleep Books.
Emily Barker is an award-winning singer-songwriter, best known as the writer and performer of the theme to the BBC's crime drama Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh. She's released music as a solo artist as well as with bands The Red Clay Halo, Vena Portae and Applewood Road (with whom she released a remarkable album of original songs dubbed “flawless” by The Sunday Times) and has written for film, including composing the soundtrack for Jake Gavin’s lauded feature Hector starring Peter Mullan. She has co-written songs with Yungblud, Frank Turner, Kathryn Williams, Graham Gouldman (10CC), The Magic Numbers, Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs), and many others.
