About this Event

Songwriter Sundays

Come join us for an evening of free live music at McCarren Park House in Brooklyn, NY! On the second Sunday of each month, talented songwriters from all genres gather to showcase their original tunes and entertain the crowd. April features the music of Lizzy Hilliard, Yael S. Copeland, Laura Mock & Belle Shea. Suggested donation of $12 to support the artists.

LIZZY HILLIARD is an ambitious 23-year-old living in New York City and making art on her own terms. She's written hundreds of songs, self-released 4 full-length albums, and composed music and lyrics for multiple theatrical projects. Lizzy's music hones a folksier, softer sound, paired with lyrics holding evocative imagery, whimsy and a twinge of fantasy.

YAEL S. COPELAND is a musician and music industry professional. After successfully managing Kame'a, an independent music group, for three fulfilling years, Yael is embarking on an exciting new chapter by relocating to New York to further advance her career. Yael is a singer - songwriter, guitarist and producer.

LAURA MOCK is a singer and a songwriter originally from Bangor, Maine. Laura started writing music at the age of 12 after she was inspired by trying to transcribe the score of How To Train Your Dragon by ear. She released her first solo work with producer Jason Sill in June of 2023, a single track titled "Landlocked". Her original works range stylistically from adult contemporary pop to Americana to indie rock, always inspired by roots and the instruments of the Earth.

BELLE SHEA is an independent alt folk/pop songwriter originally from South Florida. Her music blends lush strings and catchy guitars with her signature warm vocal, speaking directly to listeners about new beginnings and old patterns, holding on and letting go. Her lyrics are at the heart of what she creates, while the richly textured folk/pop arrangements that weave throughout her songs push the boundaries of both genres.

If you want to find new music in person instead of through a screen, Songwriter Sundays are the event for you. Whether you're a music lover, a songwriter looking to connect to other artists, or just looking for a fun way to spend your Sunday in the park, come on by. Mark your calendar and don't miss out on Songwriter Sundays!
