Spring is finally here, and as the memory of the Great Polar Vortex of last winter fades like a bad dream, what better way to celebrate the season than with the great a cappella harmony of Stone Mountain Chorus and its Barbershop Quartets! Warmer weather has us in a lighter mood, and we’d like to share that with “Songs on the Lighter Side!” Enjoy comedy, parody, and just plain goofiness as we explore the lighthearted repertoire of barbershop singing.
Under the direction of Rontray Miller II, this show will feature Chorus and Quartets performing songs of wit and whimsy from Barbershop classics to popular songs over the decades, sure to put a smile on your face. In fact, with special student pricing, this would be a great way to introduce youngsters to some musical fun and harmony.
So come on in out of the pollen and hear some great music! The show is Saturday, May 16th, 3:00 PM at Mountain Park United Methodist Church. Tickets are on sale now at StoneMountainChorus.org. As with all Stone Mountain Chorus productions, a portion of thicket sales is donated to Atlanta charity FOCUS (Families of Children under Stress.)
