Join us this Juneteenth for Songs of Truth: A Black Music Month Celebration as we explore the powerful connection between history, storytelling, and music through the life and legacy of Sojourner Truth.This special program will take a closer look at her impact, her connections to Virginia, and the ways music has long been used to tell stories, preserve culture, and inspire change. Guests will also enjoy musical interludes featuring Désirée Roots and other artists throughout the experience.
Presented by the Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia in collaboration with Shockoe Records, this program offers a chance to reflect, celebrate, and experience history in a different way.
