An intimate evening of music, reflection, storytelling, and community.
About this Event
An evening of music, memory, storytelling, and hope.
Songs of the Front Room is a live cultural music experience inspired by the sounds, stories, and spirit of the Windrush generation and the communities that turned ordinary front rooms into places of worship, resilience, celebration, and belonging.
Blending live music, heritage, gospel, soul, Caribbean influences, spoken reflection, and community storytelling, this special evening invites audiences into the atmosphere of the traditional front room — a place where families gathered, music played, faith was nurtured, and identity was preserved across generations.
Featuring special guest performances from Jason Nicholson Porter, Volney Morgan & New Ye, and Alberta Darbo, the evening will move through hymns, choruses, reflective moments, and songs connected to the wider creative world of A Dream Across the Ocean.
Hosted by Bishop Shacklefoot, this is more than a concert — it is a celebration of culture, community, faith, memory, and the power of music to bring people together.
Whether you come for the music, the atmosphere, the storytelling, or the shared experience, Songs of the Front Room promises a warm, uplifting, and emotionally rich evening.
