About this Event
This beautiful concert is the beam of light that we all need right now. Award-winning Jaffa Road comes together with Majd Sukar, master of Arabic clarinet, to bring us an afternoon music program of peace, hope, and unity. It’s 21st century intercultural Jewish folk music with elements of rock, jazz, Arabic and Indian music. The perfect balm to unite us and help us heal.
Long time favourites of the Toronto Jewish and world music scenes, Jaffa Road is a two-time Juno nominee and winner of a CFMA. Their compelling intercultural sound creates a unique sonic journey that is ancient and modern, acoustic and electronic, sacred and secular. Their inventive fusion blends inspirations from the worlds of Jewish, Arabic & Indian musics, along with jazz, electronica and rock. For their third album, Until When, Jaffa Road was recently named Recording Artist of the Year at the Ontario Folk Music Awards.
