Event Description:
Join the KAAGNY Next Generation Committee for an evening of history, culture, and connection as we present Songs of Love from Hawaiʻi, a musical drama that explores the untold stories of sacrifice, love, and unbreakable bonds of the first Korean immigrants in Hawaiʻi.
This special event honors the 65th Anniversary of the Korean American Association of Greater New York and 122 years of Korean American immigration to the United States. Escape the winter cold and immerse yourself in the warmth of Hawaiian culture with luau-themed festivities!
Schedule:
- 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Reception with a welcome cocktail, Hawaiian snacks, and seating
- 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM: Screening of Songs of Love from Hawaiʻi
- 7:15 PM – 7:45 PM: Discussion and Q&A led by Director Jinyoung Lee
- 7:45 PM – 8:30 PM: Hawaiian-Korean fusion dinner, makgeoli pairings, and networking
