Since the publication of his first book in 2007 on which the Emmy nominated Netflix documentary ReMastered: The Miami Showband Massacre is based, the renowned Peace advocate Stephen Travers has inspired millions of people around the world.
Stephen’s latest book The Bass Player: Surviving The Miami Showband Massacre was published on September 18th 2025 and in October 2025 it was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards Biography of the Year.
Following the sold-out Miami Showband 50th Anniversary Memorial Concert at Vicar Street Dublin in aid of Irish Cancer Society, Stephen teamed up with the legendary Cork musician Mo O’Connor to incorporate a selection of the songs mentioned in the new book into his much acclaimed worldwide speaking events which have long been described as Living History. This timely collaboration is aptly titled Songs of Healing & Stories of Hope.
