About this Event
Music holds our stories—the ones we inherit, the ones we grow into, and the ones we fight our way through. Songs of Healing and Home brings together two remarkable Vancouver artists whose work speaks to resilience, belonging, and the power of being honest through song.
Francis Baptiste, a Syilx singer–songwriter, crafts deeply personal folk-rock shaped by cultural reclamation, language, fatherhood, and healing. His albums Sneqsilx (Family) and Sənk̓lip, the Trickster reveal an artist unafraid of vulnerability—lush, candid, and rooted in what it means to return to yourself. More here
Ricardo, born in Mozambique and raised in Vancouver, is a multidisciplinary artist, composer, and producer whose music blends hip-hop, R&B, Afrobeat, gospel, and pop. His performances move with emotional electricity—tender, raw, layered with trauma, joy, and the transformative release of creative expression. More here
Together, they create an evening where music becomes medicine. Through original songs and personal reflections, they’ll explore what it means to heal, to belong, and to carve out a sense of home—whether through memory, culture, community, or courage.
Expect an intimate, reflective night of storytelling, soulful vocals, and the kind of honest artistry that lingers long after the final note.
Free to attend. Reserve early—seating is limited.
