Songcraft:
Songwriters are the architects of sonic emotion, crafting universes in three-minute masterpieces. They wield metaphors like paintbrushes, infuse stories with heartbeats, and turn silence into a canvas of resonance. In the grand amphitheater of musical creation, songwriters stand as the virtuoso architects, building bridges between hearts and harmonies, reminding us that life's cadence is most vividly felt when painted with the ink of their genius. With the Songcraft Series, Christopher Morse and Ian Steele will bring local songwriters to Roots Music Project to share their craft and stories.

Charles Gallant
Charlie Gallant is a Boulder-based performer who has been playing the living daylights out of his guitar for the past 20 years. Heavily inspired by improvisational live acts like Phish, Grateful Dead, and the Allman Brothers, songs are frameworks for improvisation. "For me, the room itself and the performance comes first, and whatever you've prepared comes second." Charlie is very accustomed to doing session work, sitting in as lead guitar for numerous Boulder-based acts, and is slowly building his own catalog of originals. You can find him on Instagram @charlesgallant, or singing with his quartet, Lost Bobcat @lostbobcatband.

Christopher Morse
A veteran of the Colorado music scene, Christopher Morse blends elements of folk, country, and mellow indie-pop in his 2023 EP, Covering Old Scars, which featured a rich, 'sink your teeth in' soundscape. In 2024, Morse is excited to release his 4th EP, Closer Than Before. The first single, Nobody Else, is a testament to Morse's lyrical prowess and heartfelt delivery. The single is a powerful exploration of love's ability to drive us to extraordinary acts of devotion and sacrifice. With its evocative melodies and introspective lyrics, "Nobody Else" is set to resonate with fans old and new.

Dream of Time
Dream of Time is underwater music. At times ethereal and sunlit, others deep and sprawling, the project blends elements of shoegaze and folk to create dreamscapes through sound. Fronted by Denver songwriter Olivia Shaw, the band has grown from the bones of bare vocals to feature guitar (Will Parkhill), keys (Michael Lenssen), bass (Kyle Loeffler), and drums (Miles Jenkins). October 2024 will see the release of their debut EP.
