Please join us in celebrating our scholars' achievements while also raising funds for our Somos Scholarship. The Somos Scholarship provides Acero's eighth and twelfth-grade academically high-achieving graduates the financial support they need to further their education.
A unique feature of the scholarship is that it is awarded to 8th-grade elementary school graduates as well as the graduates of our three high schools. These groups of scholars are currently facing their own unique set of challenges as they transition through major milestones in both their academic and personal lives all with an added degree of uncertainty for their future. They need our support now more than ever.
Every day the students, families, faculty and staff of Acero Schools live our mission, “transforming minds through academic empowerment and success.” It is why, after over 20 years, Acero Schools is one of the highest-performing charter school networks in all of Chicago.
First rooted in the Latino neighborhoods of Chicago, Acero Schools is a tuition-free, public charter school network serving a high percentage of bilingual students. What began as a single school in Little Village has grown to a network of fifteen K-12 schools serving multiple diverse Chicago communities. In fact, since 1998 more than 20,000 Chicago students have made their academic mark at one of our schools.
