The word “Somatic” refers to the body as perceived from within. In this course, we share the knowledge of yoga specific to the psychosomatic connection. Utilizing Mudra, Asana, Pranayama, and Dharana, we focus on the body's centers, particularly the Muladhara (root), Swadishthana (sacral), Manipura (solar plexus), and Anahata (heart) chakras. This course offers a unique approach to enhancing body awareness, releasing tension, and promoting overall well-being by connecting deeply with your mental and emotional states.

With over 25 years of experience as a practitioner, 10 of those years as a teacher, and always an eternal student, Jess has a passion for sharing the deeper levels of knowledge of the science of Yoga as well as its sister science of Ayurveda. Focusing on the mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of a Yoga practice, Jess’s classes offer a wholistic approach to understanding a deeper connection between body, mind, and spirit. Classes are based on Hatha traditions, incorporating the physical and metaphysical perspectives with respect to the subtle nuances within each season. Any level of yoga interest is welcome in Jess’s classes. Participants will receive guidance to help cultivate a deeper connection between body and mind as well as help to empower participants with a broader understanding in how to support their own health and wellness.
This course is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Whether you are looking to alleviate chronic pain, improve your athletic performance, or simply explore a new dimension of yoga, this course offers valuable insights and tools for everyone.
