You might be wondering what that is: this is a workshop combining the benefits of slow, mindful movement (Somatics) with Acupuncture and a Sound Bath!The words soma and somatic have become buzzwords in the health and wellness industry. You might have heard of somatic yoga, somatic experiencing, somatic psychology, somatic therapy, or somatic education.
Since the definitions of soma and somatic are fairly generic, they can be used to describe a variety of forms of movement and healing modalities. Pretty much any type of movement or therapy that involves paying attention to your internal physical sensations and experiences can correctly be described as somatic.
I use a combination of Medical Qigong, Yoga Poses, and Lymphatic Flossing in my flow. Since this is done during a Sound Bath with Chakra bowls tuned to the frequency of each chakra, I have also tailored the movements we are doing to the bowls Zach will be using, to get the maximum benefits from the use of Somatic Movement and Sound Healing together.
After the Somatic Flow, I place acupuncture needles (or earseeds for the needle-wary among us) with the intent of promoting a sense of profound relaxation and wellness.
While the needles are retained, I will play the wave drums while Zach uses the singing pyramid on each person so that they can feel the sound waves vibrating throughout their bodies. This is designed to be a fully immersive, transformative experience. We're so looking forward to working with each and every one of you!
