About this Event
The event will be about understanding climate change, what current areas of climate action are taking place in the Somali region, and how these efforts can be supported. The conversation will be led by a group of climate activists and educators. Amin is an experienced climate professional, currently working at a Big 4 firm where he works on sustainability strategy and reporting projects. As part of S4S, he is responsible for driving several initiatives to promote climate action in the Somali community, both in the diaspora and in the Horn of Africa. Amin holds an MSc degree in Urban Economic Development from UCL and a BEng in Civil Engineering from City, University of London. Zamzam Ibrahim is Head of Strategy for Somalis for Sustainability. Zamzam is a climate activist with a decade-long commitment to representing students and young individuals, advocating social justice, education, and sustainability. She co-founded Students Organizing for Sustainability UK (SOS-UK) and is the founder and director of IYADA. Zamzam has held various leadership positions, she was previously the President of the National Union of Students UK, and Vice President of the European Students Union
